Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel
I had the privilege of being a guest to a friend’s birthday celebration. She hosted us to an afternoon tea at the Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in downtown Denver. Located at 321 17th Street, it is centrally located for many tourist attractions. As I have never stayed at the Brown Palace Hotel overnight, that is not what I want to write about. Today I want to talk about the amazing experience you have when you go for afternoon tea! That is to say, my experience at the afternoon tea was so amazing, I needed to share!
The History of Afternoon Teas
To clarify, afternoon tea remains to this day a graceful affair to be enjoyed in the company of family and friends. It is a social event that was made fashionable for the upper class by Anna, Duchess of Bedford, in the early nineteenth century. The custom quickly grew in popularity, spreading across Europe, making the trans-Atlantic journey and continuing west to Denver. (This excerpt was taken directly from the Brown Palace website!)
Afternoon Tea Experience
In addition, this experience comes complete with herbal teas, scones, finger sandwiches and delicious pastries. The tea room provides guests the opportunity to experience afternoon tea as it was meant to be. The afternoon teas are hosted in the Atrium. Which is centrally located on the main floor of the hotel. And served from 12-4 p.m. daily. Additionally, everything about the Atrium is exceptional! Antiques grace the entire area and the staff is gracious!
They Even Import Cream from ENGLAND!
Meanwhile, Devonshire cream is shipped directly from England. A pianist plays softly near by. This is truly an experience you won’t forget. Additionally, there are 4 different “levels” you can choose from. We had the Royal Palace package. Therefore, it included two plates of finger sandwiches. Three different tea choices, scones, pastries and a glass of Kir Royale. In addition, everything was topped off with a chocolate truffle. Which completed the experience!
Pricing
Most importantly, at the time of this review the price is $46 per person. It was an amazing value and well worth the cost! Unfortunately, space is limited! Consequently, I would suggest making reservations at the Brown Palace Hotel before you make the journey! I know I did! We have the grandma’s coming in for a college graduation this spring. In short, I made reservations before I left that day! And I cannot wait to take them for this amazing and memorable experience! Whether for a special occasion or just to enjoy the experience. Having an afternoon tea party, is something to remember!
Conclusion
More importantly, If you would like to make reservations for this amazing experience, contact the Brown Palace Hotel.

Mama Writes Reviews
I love the idea of afternoon tea! I wish it was more common here in south Texas!
Kelly
There are tons of places on the east coast, where I am originally from, for tea. But in Colorado there is only two that I know of! So it is definitely not common here either!
