Double Tree Hilton, Charleston, South Carolina
I spent the last weekend of February 2018 in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel located at 181 Church Street in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. As for the location, I could not have asked for a better place to stay! The hotel was close to the Riverfront Park, the market place across the street was AMAZING and there were stores, restaurants and activities in abundance! If there was something I needed or wanted, it was within walking distance!
Rooms and facilities
This Double Tree Hilton in Charleston, South Carolina had a beautiful entry and courtyard where you could sit and enjoy yourself at the wrought iron tables or host an event. It was lovely and very enjoyable. Upon check-in you also received the most amazing warm cookies! They were delicious and you could even ask for one during the day! Always warm, and always delicious! The rooms however were not up to normal Hilton standards. I was on the fourth floor in a suite. The room size was excellent, there was an in-room safe, coffee pot, refrigerator and sitting area. In the sitting area there was a desk with chair, pull out couch and chest with flat screen TV. My bedroom had a king size bed, chest of drawers and another flat screen TV. The bathroom only had one sink and a shower tub. And it looked dirty. But I don’t think any amount of cleaning could have made it better as it seemed dated. Otherwise, the room was clean and tidy.
Hank’s Restaurant and Charleston City Market
Hank’s Restaurant and the Charleston City Market are both amazing places to enjoy while in Charleston! The famous Hank’s Restaurant is located at 10 Hayne Street, was voted best seafood restaurant for 17 years running! But I would make a reservation! It has a fabulous bar area, but it is very busy! With a hunger for seafood, I tried the crab cakes, and they were exceptional! The Charleston City Market, located at 188 Meeting Street, is rich in history and extraordinary vendors. You can find food, candy, crafts, art and so much more at this amazing market! I know I spent too much money there, but it was fabulous!
Waterfront Park
Waterfront Park is an amazing park only .6 miles from the Double Tree Hilton. I went there for my morning walk and it was stunning. The sunrise and fountains made my walk even more enjoyable! This is another treasure nestled into the city of Charleston you don’t want to miss!
