The Emeline Hotel, Charleston, South Carolina
I spent the last weekend of February 2018 and May of 2024 in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel (now the Emeline) located at 181 Church Street in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. As for the location, I could not have asked for a better place to stay! The hotel was close to the Riverfront Park, the market place across the street was AMAZING and there were stores, restaurants and activities in abundance! If there was something I needed or wanted, it was within walking distance!
Rooms and facilities
The Emeline which used to be the Double Tree Hilton in Charleston, South Carolina had a beautiful entry and courtyard where you could sit and enjoy yourself at the wrought iron tables or host an event. It was lovely and very enjoyable. Upon check-in you also received the most amazing warm cookies! They were delicious and you could even ask for one during the day! Always warm, and always delicious! Since becoming the Emeline, the rooms and facility have been updated and are BEAUTIFUL! The room size was excellent, there was an in-room safe, coffee pot, refrigerator and sitting area.

Hank’s Restaurant and Charleston City Market
Hank’s Restaurant and the Charleston City Market are both amazing places to enjoy while in Charleston! The famous Hank’s Restaurant is located at 10 Hayne Street, was voted best seafood restaurant for 17 years running! But I would make a reservation! It has a fabulous bar area, but it is very busy! With a hunger for seafood, I tried the crab cakes, and they were exceptional! The Charleston City Market, located at 188 Meeting Street, is rich in history and extraordinary vendors. You can find food, candy, crafts, art and so much more at this amazing market! I know I spent too much money there, but it was fabulous!
Other Excellent Charleston Eateries
During my daughter and mines 2025 visit we tried some many WONDERFUL restaurants! Here is a list for you to try! And don’t even get me started on the shopping heaven on King Street! OMG! Amazing!
- Fig
- Magnolia’s
- Poogan’s Porch
- Miller’s All Day
- Hot Little Biscuit for a snack in the Marketplace!

Waterfront Park
Waterfront Park is an amazing park only .6 miles from the Double Tree Hilton. I went there for my morning walk and it was stunning. The sunrise and fountains made my walk even more enjoyable! This is another treasure nestled into the city of Charleston you don’t want to miss!

Conclusion
In conclusion, Charleston, South Carolina is a favorite city. We will be sure not to stay away so long in between visits next time! Be on the look out for our adventures in Cape Cod this spring! Life is an adventure that should be cherished and explored! Until next time, ENJOY!
