Things to do for Self Care, on a Daily Basis
One of my goals is to take better care of myself. Not only mentally, but physically. As a busy entrepreneur, wife and mom I have always put my own needs on the back burner. And it is a tough habit to break! So I have come up with a list of things that I intend to do for myself this year. Because if my cup is not full, I am of no use to anyone else! So here are some suggestions to get you started on treating yourself the way you deserve to be treated! Things to do for Daily self care ideas, for just about anyone!
Self Care Suggestions:
- Take a nap! But if you do, make sure you time it! Our nap is not for escaping our situation, it is to give us a little pick me up during the day or on the weekend. So if you decide to lie down and snooze, make sure you time your nap to 20 minutes, 30 minutes would be the max!
- Keep a gratitude journal. I have a beautiful notebook I bought from Papyrus and I write in it just about daily. I write at least 3 things I am grateful for everyday. If you aren’t sure what to write, The 5 Minute Journal is a great place to start! That is how I started until I was in the habit of writing and you can purchase that from Amazon too! Then I bought a “girlie” notebook to right all my dreams, gratitude and thoughts in! Here is a beautiful notebook any lady would be proud to have, via Amazon!!!
- Wash your face and do a mini facial! Have you ever done that mid-day, just to give yourself a quick pick me up? If you haven’t, it is a must! What a refreshing feeling! Need some great, non-toxic products to try out this routine? My beautiful friend Holly has some suggestions! Check out her natural skin care products, and best of all, they are non-toxic! The detox mask is amazing!
- Take time to read a book, for fun! I am an avid reader, however, these past 2 years have been spent reading “improvement” books. What I mean by that is, books to improve my business, mindset, etc. I never read for fun anymore. Now, one time per month I go to Barnes & Noble to buy one book (murder mystery or romance!) that I treat myself too the following month. January was a fabulous James Patterson book and February it is Nicholas Sparks! I still read my other books, but we all need a break from “business” once in a while!
- Get a massage, manicure or pedicure. Or all! Need I say more?
- Watch a funny or favorite movie! Take time out, just to laugh!
- Take a hike at a new park, or your favorite place! Either way, hiking gets those happy endorphins going!
- Buy yourself a Starbucks! Or instead of getting your “usual”, get something different or treat yourself to a pastry! Sometimes we just need that special treat!!!
- Take a bath! One of my special treats that I am working on is to take a realizing bath at least twice per month! I use lavender epsom salts or a bath bomb! My friend Pam has a fabulous DIY bath bomb recipe if you want to make your own! And the essential oils she sells are amazing too! Click here to see what beautiful scents you could be enjoying while taking your bath! And if you are interested in making your own homemade bath bombs, HERE IS THE RECIPE!
- Gardening is a true love of mine! In the winter it is hard to fill that niche, but spring is almost here and a new house plant with a beautiful ceramic pot is always a nice addition!
- Buy a seasonal lip color for yourself! Every season new colors come out and it is always fun to buy a little something for yourself to change things up!
- Yoga anyone? I am not big into meditation, but I do like myself some yoga at times. So if you aren’t interested in joining a club, there are several inexpensive or free apps you can download to your phone when you need a fix! I get my yoga through Peloton. Yes, the bicycle app has yoga too! And I love it! So don’t think you need to join someplace to reap the benefits!
- And last but not least, do an oil treatment on your hair! Do you know how good it feels to have a nice warm towel wrapped around your head while a fabulous oil absorbs into your scalp and hair? It is amazing! And your hair is soft, shiny and beautiful! Again, non toxic products are the best! and Rejuveniqe Oil is amazing! Take 10-15 drops and massage into your hair & scalp, then wrap a warm towel around your head for 15-20 minutes. Wash and style as normal. And one bottle lasts for approximately one year! Fabulous and cost effective!
Heed the Warnings, Before they Escalate!
When we are stressed, self care is the furthest thing from our minds. We are so busy trying to “solve” our problems, whether real or in my case many times imagined, that we neglect ourselves in the process. Being pro-active and taking steps to prevent getting stressed is something most people, especially women, need to do! So set appointments in your planner and don’t cancel on yourself! Being the best version of yourself means keeping your mind, body and spirit as healthy as possible! I know this can be challenging, but as with all things worthwhile, it is worth it! I hope you have were able to get some new Things to do for Self Care that you can use in the future!

These are awesome tips! I definitely believe that when you look down at your toes and you have a killer pedicure it peps you up a bit! Lipstick is my go-to when I’m feeling crummy and need a pick me up. Bu, after reviewing these tips, I think I’m overdue for a oil treatment though! My hair is like straw right now. Adding to my evening to-do list for tonight!!

This is a great list of ideas. I always do a mini facial when I feel like I need a pick-me-up. It’s so simple but so satisfying! I’ll have to keep these other ideas in mind. I’ve never done an oil treatment on my hair before and want to try that out!
