This is an in depth review of all things Hotworx. From the workouts to the memberships and more!

HotWorx Review

You might be thinking, what is HotWorx?  I was curious about it too.  It is a boutique workout studio that offers pre-recorded sessions that incorporate heat, infrared energy and exercise.  I had a friend who was a member and raved about it.  So I decided to give it a try! And after my amazing experience at the Parker, CO location, I had to share my HotWorx Review and experience.

*This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are expressly my own.

Infrared Benefits

Here are some of the benefits from working out with infrared energy!

  • Detoxification
  • Muscle Recovery and cellular joint repair
  • Improved Circulation
  • Increased Calorie Burn (30% more than other heated exercise)
  • Pain Relief
  • Lowers Blood Pressure
  • Weight Loss
  • Improved Immunity

HotWorx Workouts

There are several small rooms and each room can hold from 2 to 3 people for a work out.  They offer a lot of diversity.  I like the high intensity workouts because they are about 15 minutes long.  As I build up and improve I will start doing the longer workouts of yoga, Pilates, core, buns, bands or barre.  I am normally a girl that does not like heat, but I have to say I am getting used to it and almost crave it now!

Each room has a TV which is on a video loop with all the different classes.  The Hot Blast class is offered every 15 minutes.  And other rooms have classes every 30 minutes.  You can also adjust the heat setting for your room.  I was told there is no benefits to going over 125 degrees, so that is what I have it set at every time.  I keep the lights off and turn the instruction volume off.  Only me and my ear buds!  Which I like.  So far I have had the room to myself every time.  However, I have the ability to go at times when it is not busy.

My HotWorx Experience

I have been going to HotWorx for just over two weeks.  So not long.  And I have to admit, I was skeptical when I started.  I don’t like heat so I really thought I would melt while working out.  But I was told my energy level would go up, I would sleep better and much more.  So I really wanted it to work and be everything they said.  I was hopeful and wanted to give it a try.

After my third 15 minute session (I go about every other day) I noticed I was not hitting the snooze button when the alarm went off.  I also started to notice that I was getting more done.  I was definitely more focused than I had been.  These things alone started making me a believer.

After a week I noticed my skin was clearer.  I don’t have acne, but I do have the random blemish here and there.  No more.  Another thing I noticed was that my knee no longer ached.  I had knee surgery about two years ago and my knee will ache if I over exert myself or if the weather changes.  Currently, I have not had that issue since starting with the HotWorx program.

I have not noticed a difference in my sleeping pattern yet, but I am hoping that when I start doing the longer workouts, that will improve.  I am not a bad sleeper, but I do sometimes take natural supplements to help me sleep. And would like to avoid that if possible.

HotWorx Hours and Cost

All HotWorx locations have 24 hour access, 7 days a week.  When you become a member, you receive a code to get into the building and you download an app for you phone to schedule your workout times. It has been extremely convenient.  And easy to do.

The studio I joined just had their grand opening.  They have a $10 enrollment fee and it is about $50 a month for unlimited sessions. That is a deal!

HotWorx Locations

There are approximately 300 open franchises across the country.  With an additional 700 franchises sold, but not open yet! If you travel often, you can up grade your membership to include use at any locati0n.  More locations are “popping” up all the time!

Tips and Tricks

Here are some things I do to get the most from my visits!

  • Show up at least 10 minutes early so if your room is not heated up, you have time to get it to the temperature you want. If it is already warmed up and available, do a 5 minute warm up if possible!
  • The vending machines sell a small washcloth that is wet, cold and smells like lemons! It is amazing after a workout!  I make my own and use lemon essential oil to keep the refreshing scent!  I will put it in a Ziploc ad with a re-freezable ice to keep it cold!
  • Lastly, I always have a towel in my bag.  They suggest showering within two hours after your session to get the toxins off your skin so they don’t re-absorb.  The studio I frequent, has a shower in the bathroom with everything you need to shower and wash your hair! If I am not going right home afterwards, I am sure to shower on site.

Conclusion

I have to admit, I am hooked.  With the additional energy and focus I have from doing the blast workouts, I know it is just a matter of time before I start losing some weight too!  Check out the nearest HotWorx location and try it for free! Parker, CO is my preferred location! And be sure to mention where you learned about this amazing boutique workout studio!

I hope this HotWorx Review gives you all the information you need to check it out! And remember, as with any workout program, check with your physician if you have any health concerns.Next Sign

Update March 2022:

I am still loving Hotworx and now they have rowing machines!  In combination with intermittent fasting I have lost over 7 lbs!

Update October 2023

I am no longer a member of Hotworx.  I loved it but the location I was a member at became too hard for me to get too as it was almost 25 minutes away.  However, a new one was opening in my town and only 10-15 min away and I found out I could not transfer my membership.  I would have had to pay the $100 registration fee all over again.  So I decided if they could not transfer my membership then I wasn’t going to do it.  That is crazy not to transfer a membership!

I used to work in a slimming studio. We learned there that if the room is heated we lose fat more quickly. So this must be good! I didn’t hear of this before. Sounds great

What a new and interesting concept to working out. While I would love to do this.. I am actually hands-off when it comes to even “Hot yoga”. I have a heart condition that won’t allow me high intensity and increase stimulation. It stinks..but over the years I have gotten used to it.

First I want to say thatHotworx Studios are a great idea and very well run. For several months we enjoyed the workouts and I think they have a great product. The staff at the Riverton UT location are amazingly professional and very helpful and should be commended. However, some things have changed in our lives and the location we have been going to is not convenient. My initial thought was, we will take a break, and look into changing locations at some time down the road, as this is not a good time. However, when I went to cancel I was informed that we had a choice of 60 days’ notice or paying $99 to cancel today. We were informed that we were made aware of this at sign-up. I do not doubt that they did their job and shared this however I missed it and I am very irritated that their company feels they need to use such financial tactics and traps to try and keep their memberships. I regret that as good as Hotworx is I can no longer recommend membership and will actively seek to discourage individuals from joining this financial trap, things happen in people’s lives, things change and finances become difficult for people. What they are doing in my opinion is wrong. They should change their policies and allow people to walk away after their initial contract is up with no financial repercussions and perhaps even an incentive to come back. As is, their policy leaves a bad taste in someone’s mouth and not only discourages them from coming back but they like me become an active opponent of their product instead of a promoter I/they would be. their product can stand on its own, they do not need these tactics and in the long run, these policies are actually hurting Hotworx. If they change their policies I would gladly endorse Hotworx again and likely sign-up down the road at a closer location that they recently opened. I truly enjoyed the workouts. Unless you feel confident that you are ready for a lifelong commitment or willing to loos at least $100 to leave I recommend you look for a different option
