Monat Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review

This past week Monat released their newest skin care products.  Monat Hydration Booster, which is a Hyaluronic Acid product and Hydrating Facial Mist.  My products just got here and I cannot wait to give them a whirl!  I love that all Monat’s products are plant-powered and with no toxic chemicals! So let’s get started on this  Monat Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review and what we know currently!

Hyaluronic Acid Serum Benefits

Hyaluronic acid is the equivalent of a big glass of water for dry skin.  It is able to hold up to 1,000 times its molecular weight in water.  Hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin and binds water to skin cells, infusing all layers of the skin with valuable, rejuvenating moisture.  Hydrated skin reduces the appearance of wrinkles, which may explain why several studies show that it can make skin appear smoother. When applied to the surface of the skin, hyaluronic acid serums can reduce wrinkles, redness and dermatitis.

What the Monat Hydration Booster Targets

As with all hyaluronic acid products, this targets fine lines, wrinkles and loss of elasticity.  It is great for dull or sensitive skin.  And re-hydrates thirsty skin!

Monat Ingredients for Hydration Booster

There are six active ingredients in the Monat Hydration Boost Serum.  Here is a list of what they are and how they assist in glowing skin, naturally!

• Coconut Water: replenishes
• Polyglutamic Acid: a natural peptide that is 10x more hydrating than hyaluronic acid
• Hyaluronic Acid: hydrates and plumps skin
• Vegan Collagen: plumps, smooths and boosts elasticity
• Marine Algae: protective ingredient against pollution
• Vitamin B5: an essential nutrient that assists in renewing skin
• Watermelon Extract: boosts hydration and antioxidant properties

Did you know all skin types can use extra hydration?  Dehydrated skin is from a lack of water, not oil.  This can happen due to a hot, dry climate, sun damage or taking hot showers. Environmental pollutants can also cause dehydration.  And as most people know, when your skin is dehydrated it looks dull and aged.

How to Use Monat Hydration Booster

Fill the dropper with serum and apply 3-4 drops and massage into your face and neck morning and night.  Use your palms to pat your skin for better absorption. Monat Hydrate and Refresh Face Mist

I’m not going to go into great detail about the Monat Hydrate and Refresh Face Mist product because I know for me, it isn’t feasible.  If I worked in an office or at home I would definitely love a product like this.  However, working outside (where I probably should be using it!) it just doesn’t seem realistic.  It has many of the same ingredients as the serum and would be a great “pick me up” if your skin needs a little hydration or is feeling dry and dull during the day.  What I do like is that it is light enough to spritz over your makeup!  That is huge!  And if you keep it chilled, it will feel even more refreshing!  So I will try it, but I will give you my honest opinion as to whether it is worth the purchase!

Update:

I am sticking to my first instinct.  The Face Mist is nice, but not a must have.  I don’t see a huge amount of benefit to purchasing it other than it feels nice and smells good.
