Royal Solaris Los Cabos
Royal Solaris Los Cabos is an all inclusive resort in Mexico. Located a short drive from the Cabo San Lucas airport, it has a convenient location. They welcomed us at the airport and shuttled us to the resort as part of our package. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and ushered into the beautiful lobby. Where you check in depends upon what type of guest you are. We were considered “VIP” guests so we were brought to a private area that had food, drinks and comfortable seating while we checked in. We were guests of an “owner” at the resort so we received special “perks”! One of them being, express check in.Rooms
The rooms were very large and open. We had a balcony and a partial view of the water from the third floor. I have to say, the rooms were very well tended. They were neat and clean upon arrival and every day when we came back from our excursions or pool. I am a stickler for cleanliness and it does not matter how nice of a hotel, if they don’t have clean, crisp sheets, I will not be happy!
Pool, activities, beach and excursions
The pool area was beautiful and large. With a bar area you could float up to and get drinks and more than one pool area food stop, it was a great place to spend time and relax. The resort had activities all day long that you could participate in or not! There was everything from water aerobics, dart throwing competitions and beach volleyball! We did many of the on-site activities and had a great time meeting new people and enjoying ourselves! The beach was clean and great to walk on. However, it was not a swimming beach. There are not many “swim” beaches in the area so this was a little disappointing. But being from the east coast and growing up on the Jersey shore, it would have been a nice perk! Should you want to leave the resort grounds, there are tons of excursions to choose from at an additional cost! We decided to go on a snorkeling tour, and it was fabulous! They shuttle you to and from the resort, lunch was included and we had a great time playing in the water!
Food, Restaurants and Entertainment
As we were VIP guests we had the opportunity to go to restaurants and bars that were exclusive to the owners. We also had the opportunity to go to special dinners that had entertainment and food. The VIP restaurants were good, as well as the dinners that were provided on the beach. Had we had to go to the main dining area buffet everyday, we would not have enjoyed our visit as much. Although the food was good, we are foodies and love upscale dining. It was definitely more of a cafeteria style and feel. But the VIP lounges, restaurants and breakfast area were quite good. They all had an exceptional selection of food too. The entertainment on site was also good. Each evening they had a “live” show of some type. While we were there we saw “comedy” variety show. A little cheesy, but we had some great laughs!
Overall Rating
Overall I would give this resort a 3.5 star rating. Cleanliness was exceptional, rooms were large and comfy, but if you went as anything other than an owner or VIP, you might not be happy. We were truly grateful for the opportunity to go and experience Mexico! It was a great time and we had a lot of fun! But if you can, go as a VIP! Your trip will truly be more enjoyable!!
