Homemade Italian Sausage Quiche
This is one of my favorite recipes! Italian Sausage Quiche is easy to make and a true crowd pleaser! I use pre-made frozen pie crusts to make it go a little faster. Additionally, double the recipe to make 2 quiches! This Italian Sausage Quiche recipe has been adapted from a Taste of Home magazine recipe. As usual, I changed it to make if more flavorful and to our liking! Have fun and enjoy!! Italian Sausage Quiche
Ingredients
- 1 Frozen, pre-made or make your own single-crust (9 inch)
- 1 lb Italian Sausage ( I use sweet Italian sausage)
- 1/2 cup Chopped Onion
- 1/4 cup Chopped Green Pepper
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese I sprinkle extra on top
- 3 Eggs
- 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream you can use 2% milk in place of heavy cream to save calories!
- 1 tbsp Fresh Chopped Parsley
- 1 tbsp Fresh Chopped Basil
- Salt/Black Pepper to Taste
- 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees . Either bake the frozen pie crusts as instructed or make your own! Either way, have a baked single pie crust ready to be filled!
- In a large skillet, cook the sausage, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, then drain. Spoon into shell and sprinkle with cheese.
- Whisk the remaining ingredients in a large bowl and pour over cheese and sausage.
- Bake at 375 degree for 35-40 minutes or until knife inserted near the center come out clean. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting and enjoy!
Want to double the recipe?
To make two quiches add an additional 3 eggs and some extra seasoning. That should give you enough to more than cover the other ingredients in two frozen deep dish pie shells!
Conclusion
I hope you enjoy this recipe! Furthermore, I had a great time playing with the ingredients and getting a new twist on a yummy quiche! Hopefully, you enjoy it as much as we did!
