This is an easy and fabulous dessert recipe for the holidays or anytime!  Apple cranberry slab pie is easy and delicious!  With the taste of a traditional pie, but the ease of a slab pie, this is a simple and quick recipe that will be a hit during the holidays or anytime of year!  In addition, you can serve warm with vanilla ice cream! Most importantly, I hope you enjoy this easy to make Apple Cranberry Slab Pie!

Apple Cranberry Slab Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 large Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 cup Fresh or Frozen Cranberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 2 tbsp Orange Juice
  • 1 tbsp Zest of 1 Orange
  • 1 package Pillsbury Crust *or make a pie crust from scratch
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon *optional
  • Vanilla Ice Cream *optional

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degress
  • Take the pie crusts and combine them so they they for a rectangle.  Approximately 13"x9", place in the greased jelly roll pan.  Be sure the crust comes up the side of the pan.  If you have extra crust, use to decorate the top of the pie.
  • Use apple slicer to core, peel and slice apples.  Once apples are sliced mix flour, sugar, orange juice/zest and sugar together in a large bowl.
  • Place filling in the crust and bake for 50-60 minutes.  Crust should be slightly browned and filling soft.  Most importantly, serve warm with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

Conclusion

This is an easy pie for anytime of year!  But as always the fall is the  best time to make it as that is when apples are in season!
