Slow Cooker Lasagna
I love comfort foods, especially Italian style! Sauce, pasta and cheese makes any dish awesome! I love lasagna but it always seems to be so much work! Cooking noodles, layering, cooking the meat! So here is an easier way of getting a great Italian meal, with half the effort! Slow Cooker Lasagna at its best! I hope you enjoy!
Slow Cooker Meals
Sometimes slow cooker meals can be tedious as they always seem to taste the same! But not this Slow Cooker Lasagna! I have to admit I have been experimenting with different slow cooker options and I am really enjoying making pasta dishes in the slow cooker!!
Slow Cooker Lasagna
Ingredients
- 1 12 oz Box of Lasagna Noodles
- 1 lb Ground Beef *you can use 1/2 lb ground beef and 1/2 lb Italian sausage for more flavor
- 1/2 Yellow Onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp Crushed Garlic
- 2 24 oz Jars of your favorite pasta sauce *or make your own!
- 1 8 oz bag Shredded Mozzarella
- 1 15 oz Container of Ricotta Cheese
- 1/2 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 2 tbsp Italian Spices *you can use oregeno, basil and garlic powder in place of the Italian seasoning mix
- 1 Egg
- Fresh Italian Parsley *for garnish
Instructions
- I use crock pot liners for easy clean up! So either line your slow cooker or grease bottom and sides with Pam cooking spray.
- Cook ground beef until no longer pink (and crumbly) with onion and garlic. 8-10 minutes
- Add 1 jar of sauce to ground beef mixture
- Take 2nd jar of sauce and cover bottom of slow cooker with 1 cup of sauce.
- Mix 1.5 cups of mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning and egg until thoroughly blended.
- Place uncooked pasta over the sauce so that it covers the bottom. Then place a third of the meat mixture on top.
- Place a third of the cheese mixture on top of the noodles and meat. Repeat this sequence three times.
- End with a layer of noodles on top and cover with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with the last 1/2 cup of mozzarella and fresh parsley.
- Cook on low for 5 hours and enjoy!!
