Looking for a winter wonderland to spend the holidays? Then Vail is your place! The Tivoli Lodge Vail is amazing anytime of the year. However, at the holidays it is the most beautiful!
This week my husband and I took a much needed break to our happy place! So we did a last minute search on Hotels.com and decided to try someplace new! So the Tivoli Lodge is where we went!
Tivoli Lodge Vail
The Tivoli Lodge is conveniently located at 386 Hanson Ranch Road. It is located on the edge of center village. If you walk east, there is a lift and the kids snow school area. Walk west and you have the center village gondola! The location is excellent! It is right on the edge of center village so you can walk or take the bus anywhere, but it is off the beaten path enough that it is always quiet. A truly tranquil spot.
The Room
The room was over sized with a kind size bed. We also had a gas fireplace, small patio and a “mountain view”. The room was definitely facing the mountain, however, the evergreens between us and the mountain were so tall, we couldn’t really see the mountain. But still a very pretty view!
We also had a nice bathroom with a shower that had massage jets and a tub in case you wanted to soak for a bit!
As with most up scale hotels there was a room safe, terry cloth robes to use and there was even a small area with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. So after a long day at the slopes, you can relax in your room should you decide not to go out on the town for the evening! Take a look for yourself at the room!
Things to do!
Vail is a haven for things to do! Every winter sport is available! From skiing to snow shoeing! There is also a great winter “park” at the top of the mountain where you can take your kids on rides and attractions! There are also 2 outdoor ice skating rinks, 1 indoor rink, library, bowling alley and a movie theater! And of course, tons of shopping!
On property at Tivoli Lodge there is a great workout area (with a Peloton! I need to bring my bike shoes for next time!) and over sized hot tub! So not a lot of on site activities, but it is definitely in a fabulous place to access all that Vail has to offer!
Places to Eat
The Tivoli Lodge Vail has a great and reasonably priced breakfast buffet. The selection of food was great and you can either do the “cold” buffet or “hot” for a couple bucks more.
There is also a fabulous buffet at the Sonnenalp Hotel. The Sonnenalp is much more expensive but it is by far one of the best buffets we have ever attended! And it has a feel of being straight from Europe! Definitely worth the money and effort for a very special Christmas morning!
There is also the Little Diner (one of our favorites!), Sweet Basil, Blue Moose Pizza, Vintage, Elway’s and so much more! It is hard to say which restaurant is truly the best!!
Pet Friendly? YES!
The resident dog at the Tivoli is a chocolate lab named Racer. So they love dogs and with an additional fee, you can bring your furry friend too! We have brought our German Shepard Bear with us many times. And with all the walking and hiking we do, his visit is always fun too!
Conclusion
As you may already know, Vail is our happy place! And I recommend it any time of the year. However, if you are looking for a fabulous place to visit for the holidays, then the Tivoli Lodge in Vail would be the first place I recommend! From the festive atmosphere of holiday lights, ice sculptures and of course, snow! There isn’t a more perfect place that I can think of to spend the holidays!

Update:
As always our visits to the Tivoli Lodge are exceptional and our visit Memorial Day Weekend 2021, was no exception. However, what I never realized before is they have a wonderful area for intimate weddings! It was a lovely setting!
Another update, the Tivoli Hotel in Vail now offers electric bikes to gusts, for FREE! We had a wonderful time this summer using them! Just be sure to get there early!
Looking just for a hotel? Hotels.com is the only website I use to save money. And for every 10 nights you get one night free!
More importantly, thank you for spending your time here at Colorado Kelly! I love having you here and appreciate everyone that comes to visit and look forward to having you come back soon!

I believe there is over 5,000 acres of skiing! I used to snowboard in Vail, however, as I got older, snowshoeing is my friend now! It is the third largest skiing resort in the US!
