Creamy Cajun Chicken and Sausage Pasta Recipe
Spicy pasta dishes are a favorite in our family. And Cajun seasoning made for the perfect pasta dish on a cold January night! In just over a half hour we had an amazing and tasty meal on the table! But this Creamy Cajun Chicken and Sausage Pasta Recipe has other options too!
Options
Jambalaya is a traditional Cajun dish. With Mardi Gras around the corner why not put a spin on it with this tasty dish. As we don’t particularly like shrimp dishes, we decided to forgo the shrimp. However, if you want to eliminate the chicken and add shrimp to this dish, be sure to put Cajun seasoning on the shrimp prior to cooking! Cook the shrimp separate from the sausage too! And if you want a more traditional recipe, replace the pasta with rice and skip the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese!
Another option is to spice it up more or less according to your liking. I added Cajun spice, 5 tsp, but you can reduce or increase that amount. I felt it had a generous amount of flavor without being “too” spicy.
