Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
I personally have a strong dislike for raisins. Seriously, why do people eat those things? They have a yucky texture and bring nothing to the table, in my opinion. However, oatmeal is a breakfast favorite for me! With brown sugar, banana slices and pecan chips! Who can resist? So when baking cookies, I wanted to take something nutritious and mix it with something I LOVE, chocolate chips! So I came up with an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe! Something the entire family can enjoy. And as an extra twist, I popped some macadamia chips in the batter! Deliciousness exemplified!
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups Quaker Oats
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Ground Sea Salt
- 1 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- 2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips I use a combo of chips. You can do the same chips or a combo like I did.
- 1 cup Butter, softened
- 2 tsp Vanilla (I never use imitation)
- 2 eggs Room temperature if possible, but not necessary
- 1 cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Macadamia Nut Chips nuts are not necessary if you are allergic.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
- Using a hand beater or mixer, mix together both sugars and butter. Once thoroughly mixed add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until fluffy.
- Slowly add the flour mixture and oats, a little at a time. Mixing in between so all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Then add the chips and nuts.
- Using a small scoop, place the cookie mounds onto a baking stone. I love baking stones and have found they give an even baking surface for everything from cookies to pizza.
- Place in the oven for 9-12 minutes. If you like chewier cookies, bake for 9 minutes. If you like them a little crispier, then longer. Let the cookies "rest" on the stone for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Once cooled, enjoy!

Haha! Why, yes, I love raisins! Not so much in cookies, but in other kinds of pastries definitely. Especially buns. These chocolate chip cookies, however, look delicious. I love when cookie recipes are so healthy that they work for even for breakfast! 🙂

Agreed on raisins…when I know something usually has chocolate chips in it but it’s been substituted by raisins it is not good!! Love CC cookies.
