Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe

Wow, I cannot even believe where we are right now.  With Covid-19 shutting down most of, if not all of the United States. We truly need to band together as a nation and show unity and kindness towards one another.  With that said, I have taken a lot of time to reflect on my purpose and what God is trying to tell us during this time.  But until I am ready (if ever) and to share my thoughts I will instead share my Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe instead!  With being at home for over two weeks, I need to start getting a little more creative with my meals!!!

Side Dishes

I did two easy side dishes.  The first was Yukon gold petite potatoes!  10 min on high in the Instant Pot with  one cup of water and you have a quick and easy side dish.  Add a little salt, pepper and butter to taste!  And of course, a side salad goes with any main dish!  At least that is my opinion!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Here is an easy and delicious pot roast recipe! With an amazing gravy!!! Yummy!

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 4-5 lb Beef Round Roast
  • 2 cans Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup *10.75 ounce cans, I used Campbell's brand
  • 1 envelope Dry Onion Soup Mix *1 ounce packet, I used Lipton's
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/4 cup Red Cooking Wine
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt/Pepper to Taste

Instructions

  • Lightly spray your slow cooker with baking spray. I love using the disposable slow cooker bags, but spraying with cooking spray works too when I don't have the bags on hand!
  • Browning your roast prior to cooking in the slow cooker is a personal preference. But I HIGHLY recommend it! It gives the roast an amazing texture and flavor!
  • Warm the olive oil in a deep pot. Once warmed place the roast into the pot. Brown on medium heat for approximately 3-4 minutes on each side. Until lightly browned.
  • While browning your meat, combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  • Once you have browned your meat, place it in the slow cooker. Pour the gravy mixture over the top. Cook on high for 2.5-4 hours. I had a 4.06 lb roast and it was perfectly cooked in less than 3 hours.
  • The gravy that cooks with roast is amazing! No need to do anything extra as it is rich and thick all on its own!
  • Once your roast is cooked to your preference, ENJOY!

Conclusion

With the crazy world we are currently living in and Easter just around the corner, this easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast is an amazingly easy dinner recipe!  Combine this with some festive and yummy side dishes and your family will be begging for more!

    This looks like such a yummy pot roast, I just wished my husband liked it more cause then I’d be trying all the different recipes all the time, but it’s not his favorite.

    I’d have to swap the onion mix for something else since I’m insanely allergic to onions, but aside from that – this recipe sounds right up my alley. Simple and I’m sure it’s super delicious. Love a good slow-cooker meal, that’s for sure. Prep and forget 😉
