Ingredients

  • 4 6 oz Salmon Filets
  • 1/4 cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup *I used pure, organic syrup
  • 3 tbsp Bourbon
  • 1 tbsp Honey *optional, I added this to the recipe
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Walnuts *I used pecans instead
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions, chopped *I had extra for garnish
  • 6 pieces Thick Cut Cooked Bacon, chopped *the recipe only required 4, but the more bacon the better in my opinion!

Instructions

  • Place salmon in a baking dish while preparing the sauce.
  • Combine the first four ingredients and pour over the salmon. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes.
  • In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add the salmon filets and any sauce in the dish to the skillet. Cook until the fish just begins to flake easily with a fork. 4-6 minutes per side depending on how thick your filets are. Mine were thick so I took the full 6 minutes.
  • Remove salmon from skillet and keep warm in baking dish. Add nuts, green onions and bacon to skillet. Heat through and pour over salmon. Garnish with extra green onions.
  • Serve with salad or a vegetable! Then enjoy!
